Dresden & Meissen

Dresden, the "Florence on the North," is a city beautifully reconstructed, with its surrounding Elbe valley a UNESCO World Heritage site. See the highlights of the superb Old and New Masters Picture galleries with artists such as Vermeer, Rembrandt, Cranach, Holbein, Titian, Caspar David Friedrich, die Brucke, and Otto Dix.

See the incredible collections in the palace vaults of jewellery, silver, porcelain and so forth created for the Wunderkammer. We will also visit the Frauenkirche, entirely rebuilt after the bombing of the Second World War.

In Meissen, visit the world-famous porcelain manufactory and see how porcelain is still made. Tour the whimsical Albrechtsburg castle where the original workshop was.
